
Femi Gbajabiamila, former Speaker of the House of Representatives has resigned his membership of the 10th House.
Speaker of the house, Tajudeen Abbas, read Gbajabiamila’s letter of resignation during plenary on Wednesday.
Gbajabiamila said his resignation is to enable him assume the role of chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The president had appointed Gbajabiamila to the position on June 2.
Following his resignation, Gbajabiamila is expected to resume his new role as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
With Gbajabiamila’s resignation from his role as the Speaker of the House, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will now conduct a fresh election to fill the role.
