The Nigerian Government has increased the fees for the procurement of Nigerian Passport with effect from the 1st of September 2024.
According to a statement from the Nigeria Immigration Service spokesman Kenneth Udo the increase is a component of the government’s efforts to uphold the integrity and quality of the Nigerian Standard Passport.
Following the review, he said, a 32-page passport booklet with a five-year validity that was previously priced at thirty-five thousand naira (N35,000.00) would now only cost fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00); a 64-page passport booklet with a ten-year validity that was previously priced at seventy thousand naira (N70,000.00) would now only cost one hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00).
The statement further states that for Nigerians in Diaspora, the fees have not altered.
While expressing regrets about any inconvenience this increase might cause prospective applicants; the NIS assured Nigerians of unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.
