Fire Guts Section of Dangote Refinery in Lagos

Fire has gutted a section of the effluent treatment plant of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos on Wednesday.

The fire was immediately put out as fire fighters and first responders swiftly rose to the occasion.

In a statement, spokesman for the company, Anthony Chiejina, said operations at the refinery was not affected in anyway.

He added that there is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all the staff on duty.

The petroleum refinery, on January 12, commenced production of diesel and aviation fuel.

The newly launched 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery was inaugurated by former President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2023, after receiving six shipments of crude.
