Flying Eagles Set for Final U-20 AFCON Preparations in Cairo

Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, will depart Abuja this weekend for Cairo as they enter the final phase of preparations for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Led by head coach Aliyu Zubairu, the team recently concluded the second leg of their training camp in Katsina before regrouping in Abuja last week. The squad will spend a week in Egypt fine-tuning tactics and finalizing their squad ahead of the tournament kickoff.
Nigeria, seven-time champions of the competition, have been drawn into Group B alongside Tunisia, Kenya, and Morocco. They will begin their campaign with a clash against Tunisia on Saturday, April 28.
The 2025 U-20 AFCON not only offers a shot at continental glory but also serves as the qualifying tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
