FPSO project to boost oil production by 40,000 BPD – Lokpobiri

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, has lauded the ongoing development of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility in Lagos, a joint venture between NNPC Limited and Century Nigeria Limited, in collaboration with  the West African Exploration and Production Company Limited (WAEP) and Energy Services Limited (ENSERV).

The minister who spoke during an inspection visit to the site, Lokpobiri expressed his satisfaction with the progress made, noting the facility’s potential to increase Nigeria’s crude oil production by an additional 40,000 barrels per day (bpd).

“This FPSO project stems from my engagement with NNPC Limited, following President Bola Tinubu’s directive for enhanced production. It is strategically designed to boost local capacity and attract further investments into our oil sector,” he explained.

Lopkobiri highlighted the collaboration among NNPCL, Century Group and other partners as a vital component of Nigeria’s efforts to significantly increase crude production and meet global demand.

The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting partnerships that aim to revitalize Nigeria’s oil sector and increase its output.
