National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has praised the ongoing economic reforms spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu, highlighting their transformative effects on Nigeria’s economy.
Speaking at an empowerment event in Kano on Sunday, where 1,200 vehicles and motorcycles were distributed to APC leaders, Ganduje emphasized that these reforms are already producing significant, tangible outcomes.
Ganduje commended President Tinubu’s commitment to restructuring Nigeria’s economic framework, noting that under his leadership, the country has seen a wave of positive changes. “The economic revitalization under President Tinubu’s leadership is undeniable, with substantial progress in infrastructure, job creation, and sectoral growth,” Ganduje said.
The APC leader pointed to specific successes such as the reduction in food prices, a drop in fuel costs, and the strengthening of the naira as direct benefits of the reforms.
He also praised the president’s inclusive approach, which has seen key Kano figures appointed to critical positions, including the Deputy Senate President, two ministers, and other influential roles.
Ganduje acknowledged the president’s special regard for Kano, which has been reflected in the region’s prominent leadership positions.
He also lauded the work of Barau Jibrin, Deputy Senate President, for his role in the establishment of the North-West Development Commission, a landmark initiative that promises to uplift the region’s development prospects.
In a bid to further empower Kano residents, Ganduje underscored the significance of the vehicle and motorcycle distribution, which was aimed at boosting the socio-economic status of party members and promoting the APC’s values. “This initiative is not just about mobility; it’s about providing the tools for empowerment and community progress,” he said.
Earlier, Jibrin revealed that the initiative would benefit APC ward and local government chairmen across Kano’s 44 LGAs, with plans to soon roll out a special package targeting youth, women, teachers, and students.
Additionally, Jibrin announced that university graduates who have yet to secure formal employment would receive a N5 million loan to start small businesses—a move designed to foster entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment.
Barau Jibrin also praised Ganduje for his leadership, noting that his vision had propelled the party to new heights. He urged all party members to unite behind President Tinubu’s reforms to ensure Nigeria’s sustained growth and success.
As the empowerment program unfolded, it was clear that both Ganduje and Jibrin are eager to ensure that the dividends of democracy are shared widely, encouraging a bright future for Kano and beyond under Tinubu’s leadership.
