Germany launches digital visa system to address 400,000 job openings in 2025

Germany has launched a new fully digital visa application system, called the Consular Services Portal, to tackle the critical shortage of skilled workers.

The country is looking to fill 400,000 job openings in 2025, with particular focus on sectors such as healthcare, technology, and manufacturing.

This new system is designed to streamline the visa process for skilled workers, apprentices, and students by removing bureaucratic hurdles and accelerating visa approvals.

According to the DAAD Scholarship, the German government is actively recruiting international professionals to bolster its economy.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized that attracting skilled workers is vital for maintaining Germany’s status as a leading global economic power.
