Gov Lawal Flags Off Construction Of ₦6.6bn Road Linking Two LGAs

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has reiterated that the ongoing road projects across the state are evidence of his administration’s dedication to enhancing the transportation system, by linking towns and villages with access roads.

The governor made this known during the flagging-off of the construction of 11.65-kilometer-long roads in the towns of Rawayya, Furfuri and Kurya-Madaro in Bungudu and Kaura-Namoda local government areas.

The construction of 11.65kilometres of roads linking Rawayya, Furfuri and Kurya-Madaro in Bungudu and Kaura-Namoda local government areas is aimed at addressing critical infrastructure gaps, enhancing connectivity, and supporting economic growth in the local communities in Zamfara State.

The ₦6.6bn project is been awarded to Bauhaus Global Investment Nigeria Limited and is expected to link towns and villages with the two local government areas

At the project’s flag-off ceremony in the Rawayya community, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engineer Ahmad Yandi highlighted the severe impact of the state’s infrastructure deficit on development, agriculture, and local businesses.

While speaking at the event, the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal emphasised that the road construction is part of his administration’s broader agenda to improve transportation, boost local economies, and address security challenges.

He reassured residents of his commitment to sustainable development and economic advancement.

The project is expected to be fully completed within 12 months.
