Governor Aiyedatiwa Approves Recruitment of 1,010 Teachers for Secondary Schools

In a landmark decision aimed at addressing the growing need for quality educators, Governor Aiyedatiwa has approved the employment of 1,010 teachers for secondary schools across the state. This approval follows the successful completion of a rigorous recruitment process by the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), which meticulously screened thousands of applicants last year.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, revealed in a statement that the list of successful candidates will be made public online this coming Monday. Additionally, the names of the selected teachers will be posted at TESCOM’s headquarters and zonal offices across the state starting Tuesday.

Adeniyan further emphasized that only successful candidates will proceed with the documentation process, ensuring a smooth transition into their new roles.

The governor’s approval comes in response to a significant teacher shortage in public schools, which has long impacted the state’s educational system. Last year, Governor Aiyedatiwa authorized the recruitment of both 1,000 secondary school teachers and 1,000 primary school teachers to bridge the gap.

“While the list for secondary school teachers was finalized and approved on Friday, the recruitment process for primary school candidates is currently in its final stages,” Adeniyan added.

This move signals the government’s continued commitment to enhancing the quality of education and providing students with the qualified teachers they deserve.
