Governor Fintiri Cautions Appointees Against 2027 Campaigns, Prioritizes Governance

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has issued a stern warning to his appointees, advising them against engaging in early campaigns for the 2027 elections. Speaking at the 2024 end-of-year stakeholders meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Government House in Yola, Fintiri emphasized that their focus should remain on fulfilling the responsibilities of their current positions, warning that failure to do so could result in their removal from office.

Fintiri stressed that the primary objective at this time should be governance and the delivery of services, rather than engaging in political activities. He made it clear that any appointee seeking to boost their personal political profile for the 2027 elections should consider resigning, as those who continue such pursuits would face potential dismissal.

“I am committed to serving the people of Adamawa State and not catering to the interests of a select few,” Fintiri declared. He also reiterated that his agenda for 2025 and beyond is centered on service to the people, with no room for distractions or early politicking.

The meeting was attended by key political figures, including Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta, the three senators from the state, the Adamawa State House of Assembly speaker, PDP assembly members, and all executive cabinet commissioners.
