The scenarios under which Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder may face off have been laid out by his promoter Eddie Hearn. Joshua does not yet have a definite opponent.
The British promoter told Ring magazine that the first step is to wait for the result of the February 22 bout between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker. He did, however, stress that they are not now focused on this battle.
“To be honest, we’re not targeting this fight right now because we’re only looking at matches with Tyson Fury or the winner of the Dubois-Parker fight. But if neither of those options materialises, we’ll fight Wilder, Bakole, the winner of Kabayel-Zhilei, or Dillian Whyte,” Hearn stated.
He added that Turki Al-Sheikh is also open to the idea of a Joshua-Wilder fight. Al-Sheikh reportedly told Hearn that if Fury retires or for some reason they don’t get the Dubois-Parker winner, he’s willing to consider the matchup.
Anthony Joshua lost his last fight to Daniel Dubois and is now searching for a potential opponent. Turki Al-Sheikh has shared details about who the British boxer might face next.
