Manchester United extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a dominant 3-0 victory over struggling Leicester.
Rasmus Højlund broke a 21-game goal drought, putting United ahead in the 28th minute. Alejandro Garnacho, who had been waiting since November for a goal, had an early strike ruled offside but made no mistake later, scoring with a well-placed shot that Leicester keeper Mads Hermansen should have saved.
United completed a clean sweep of their meetings with Leicester this season, winning all four encounters, two of which came under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford. However, Van Nistelrooy’s impact at Leicester has been far less effective, with the Foxes now losing 13 of their last 14 league matches and sitting nine points adrift of safety.
Leicester also set an unwanted Premier League record, becoming the first side to go seven consecutive home games without scoring. Bruno Fernandes sealed United’s victory with a stunning strike from the edge of the box, marking his seventh goal in as many games.
