Lawmakers in the House of Representatives have shifted the resumption of plenary from January 28 to February 4 to enable various committees conclude ongoing budget defence by ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
The shift in date is contained in an internal memorandum by the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, on the directive of the House Leadership.
According to the memo, the postponement is necessary to allow committees sufficient time to conclude ongoing budget engagements with ministries, departments, and agencies.
The House of Reps says the end goal is to ensure a thorough and comprehensive approach to legislative responsibilities.
The House reiterated commitment to fulfilling its legislative mandate for the benefit of Nigerians and appreciates the understanding of all stakeholders.
