Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Golf Club Appoints 10-Member Interim Management Committee

The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Golf Club has announced the formation of a 10-member interim management committee, with Dr. Peter Deshi appointed as Chairman and Barrister Yomi Oyelola serving as Secretary.
A statement released on Sunday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, confirmed that the committee is expected to begin its work immediately.
The committee will operate under the oversight of the Board of Trustees, which is chaired by Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, President of the Court of Appeal.
The committee’s membership includes prominent figures such as Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, Arc. Nanwor Mamven, Ekanem Ekwueme, Arc. Arabi Bello, Lawan Aboki, Okey Nnaedozie, Fred Otobo, and Julius Fadairo.
The statement emphasized that Wike had reiterated the FCT Administration’s commitment to restoring order and efficiency to the golf club, which has recently faced internal challenges. Additionally, the FCT Minister clarified that the club remains the property of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
Located in the heart of Abuja, the IBB Golf Club is renowned as one of Nigeria’s most prestigious golf facilities, hosting numerous high-profile tournaments over the years.
