IGP Decorates Three Newly Promoted AIGs, 16 CPs in Abuja

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has decorated 19 senior police officers with new ranks, amidst celebrations from their families, friends, and well-wishers.

The ceremony took place at the Goodluck Jonathan International Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters in Abuja. Among those promoted were three Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 16 Commissioners of Police (CPs)

The newly promoted AIGs are Garba Ahmed, Nemi Edwin Osigoboka Iwo, and Salman Garba Dogo. Additionally, 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police. Among them were Cyriacus Enechukwu, Gombit Bangs, Rosemary Akpan, and Ayodele Adeyemi, to name a few.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, shared the announcement in a statement on Thursday. He listed the promoted officers, noting the significant strides they had made in their careers.

The event saw a distinguished group of dignitaries in attendance, including Prince Ma Sani-Omolori, former Clerk to the National Assembly (Ciroma of Ebira Land), Nebeolisa Anako, former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission, and retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Valentine Ntomchukwu.

During his address to the newly decorated officers, Egbetokun commended their commitment and service to the nation, while also highlighting the considerable responsibilities that come with their new ranks.
