The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the immediate redeployment of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to key positions within the force, alongside the posting of eighteen Commissioners of Police (CPs) who are due for AIG ranks, pending approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC).
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, emphasized that these postings are part of a strategic restructuring aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness of the police force to meet its responsibilities.
The newly posted AIGs include:
- AIG Margaret Ochalla, now heading AIG FCID Annex, Lagos
- AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, assigned to AIG Zone 13, Ukpo
- AIG Fred Ekokotu, overseeing AIG Zone 11, Osogbo
- AIG Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka, in charge of AIG Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja
- AIG Garba Ahmed, appointed AIG Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters, Abuja
- AIG Salman Dogo, assigned to AIG Zone 5, Benin
- AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu, now responsible for AIG Zone 9, Umuahia
In addition, eighteen CPs have been posted to various strategic offices, acting in the capacity of AIGs until they receive official approval from the PSC. These officers include:
