2023 General Elections: INEC fixes April 15 for supplementary polls
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, April 15, for the conduct of all supplementary governorship, state and national assembly elections.
The commission made this known on its official Twitter page on Monday, signed by the chief press secretary to the INEC chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi.
He added that voting is expected to take place in Kebbi and Adamawa states on the said date.
The governorship elections in both states were declared inconclusive by INEC because the cancelled votes were more than the margins between leading candidates.
INEC declared the Kebbi State governorship election inconclusive following the cancellation of results of polling units in 20 of the 21 local government areas of the state.
Before the election was declared inconclusive in Adamawa, Ahmadu Fintiri, the incumbent governor and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had won 13 LGAs, while Aisha Binani, gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had secured victory in seven.
