The inaugural meeting of the committee was held earlier this week in Abuja. Chaired by Rhoda H. Gumus, the committee’s primary responsibility is to develop a comprehensive roadmap to ensure the smooth execution of the elections.

The committee’s mandate includes reviewing the Terms of Reference, crafting a work plan, establishing sub-committees, designing an Elections Project Plan (EPP) Template, and setting submission timelines for key planning documents.

Notable members present at the inauguration included:

  • Kenneth Ukeagu – Chair, Tenders Board (Member)
  • Baba Bila – Chair, EOLC (Member)
  • Sam Olumekun – Chair, EPMC (Member)

During her remarks at the event, Gumus emphasized the significance of early and thorough planning in strengthening Nigeria’s electoral system. She urged the committee members to carry out their duties with diligence, integrity, and transparency to ensure the credibility of the electoral process.
