Insurgency: Troops Eliminate 152 Terrorists, Arrest 109 Others

The Armed Forces of Nigeria have neutralised 152 terrorists, arrested 109 suspects, and rescued 91 kidnapped hostages in addition to the recovery of a cache of arms and other items.

According to the latest weekly report from the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, troops in the Northeast, Operation HADIN KAI achieved notable successes, including the surrender of Boko Haram/ISWAP/JAS terrorists, ambush operations, and the discovery of UXOs.

The report disclosed that troops also conducted arrest and offensive operations, neutralising 63 terrorists, arresting 38 suspects, and rescuing 35 kidnapped hostages.

The report further disclosed that Operation SAFE HAVEN troops in the North Central region conducted offensive and counter/anti-kidnapping operations, arresting 18 violent extremists and rescuing 14 kidnapped hostages while troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE neutralized three terrorists, arresting 22 violent extremists, and rescuing 14 kidnapped hostages.

In the NorthWest, Operation HADARIN DAJI troops conducted ambush operations, fighting patrols, and counter/anti-kidnapping operations, neutralizing 105 terrorists, arresting 21 suspects, and rescuing 36 kidnapped hostages. Operation just as WHIRL PUNCH troops also recorded successes, neutralizing 16 terrorists, arresting nine suspects, and rescuing two kidnapped hostages.
