‘Intolerable’, ‘dangerous precedent’: World condemns Israel’s UNRWA ban

The recent Israeli laws branding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) as a “terror” group have drawn widespread condemnation from various global entities, including the United Nations, numerous countries, and humanitarian organizations.
Critics argue that these laws will severely restrict UNRWA’s ability to provide essential humanitarian support to Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, potentially exacerbating the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized that UNRWA’s work is “indispensable” and warned of the devastating consequences the legislation could have for Palestinian refugees.
Various countries, including China, Russia, the UK, and Jordan, have also voiced strong opposition, calling the move a violation of international law and expressing concerns about its implications for humanitarian aid in the region.
