Israel Attacks on Gaza Reproductive Centres ‘Genocidal’ – UN Probe

United Nations experts have accused Israel of committing “genocidal acts” against Palestinians by systematically targeting women’s healthcare facilities during its war on Gaza, including using sexual violence as a war tactic.

On Thursday, the Geneva-based Independent International Commission of Inquiry released a new report stating that Israel intentionally destroyed Gaza’s main fertility center while blocking essential medicine for pregnancies, deliveries, and neonatal care from entering the region.

The commission concluded that Israel’s actions have led to the “destruction of the reproductive capacity of Palestinians in Gaza,” which it categorized as two forms of genocidal acts during the Israeli offensive, which began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

In response, Israel’s mission in Geneva categorically rejected the allegations, calling them unfounded.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also condemned the UN investigation, labeling the claims as “false accusations” and “absurd.”
