The Jigawa State Police Command has officially welcomed 448 newly graduated police constables who completed six months of intensive training at the Police College in Kaduna.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Dutse on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdullahi addressed the new recruits, stressing the importance of discipline and adherence to the Nigeria Police Act, Regulations, and other federal laws.
Speaking at the parade ground, CP Abdullahi urged the constables to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, honesty, and respect for human rights. He emphasized that they must remain disciplined and follow the rules and regulations that govern police conduct.
The CP also advised the recruits to avoid unnecessary loans and corrupt practices, warning them to be mindful of their actions to prevent any behavior that could damage the reputation of the police force.
The statement further noted that the new constables, including those in General Duty and Specialist roles, are required to undergo additional training in practical police duties, weapons handling, musketry, and combat operations. This training will be conducted by the Department of Operations and Mobile Base, 35PMF Dutse, in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
CP Abdullahi reiterated the significance of adhering to SOPs and upholding the rules and regulations that guide police conduct.
