Jimmy Carter Wins Posthumous Grammy for Best Audiobook, Narration and Storytelling Recording

In a heartfelt moment at the 2025 Grammy Awards, former President Jimmy Carter has won a posthumous Grammy Award for Best Audiobook, Narration, and Storytelling Recording.

Carter’s award-winning audiobook, “Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration,” features his final Sunday school lessons in Georgia, where he shares his insights on love, kindness, forgiveness, and the afterlife.

The audiobook, released in August 2024, also includes music from notable artists such as Darius Rucker, Jon Batiste, and LeAnn Rimes.

Carter, who passed away in December 2024 at the age of 100, had previously won three Grammys in similar categories.

His grandson, Jason Carter, accepted the award on his behalf, emphasizing the importance of preserving Carter’s words for future generations.

This posthumous recognition underscores Carter’s enduring legacy and his contributions to both public service and the arts.

Carter’s previous Grammy wins were for “Faith – A Journey for All” (2019), “A Full Life: Reflections at 90” (2016), and “Our Endangered Values: America’s Moral Crisis” (2007).

He had been nominated for a total of 10 Grammys throughout his career and won four.
