JUST IN: Super Falcons crash out after losing to England on penalties

The Super Falcons of Nigeria were eliminated from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after falling to England’s 10-player team in a penalty shootout.

The Super Falcons put in a heroic effort, but only those who succeed are rewarded. Given that the game lasted more than 120 minutes, England will consider itself fortunate to have moved on to the next round.

After England’s Lauren James received a red card for stomping on a Nigerian player and during the penalty shootout, where England lost their first shootout and a fantastic opportunity to win the penalty kick, the Super Falcons had all the opportunities to win the game.

In the quarterfinal of the tournament, the three lionesses will be waiting to face the winner between Colombia and Jamaica.
