Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf Promises New Jobs for Cabinet Members Following Reshuffle

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has assured the members of his cabinet who were laid off following a reshuffle last week that new roles will be found for them.

The reshuffle saw the removal of five commissioners, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and the Chief of Staff. Despite political speculations, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the reshuffle was done in good faith, aimed at enhancing governance and fulfilling the promises made during the election campaign.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, Governor Yusuf explained that the reshuffle was necessary to inject fresh energy into his administration and improve the delivery of government policies. He highlighted that the administration’s goal is to accelerate the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Kano, particularly given the limited time remaining to implement their promises.

The governor reassured those removed from their positions that they were not being dismissed permanently and would be reassigned to other roles within the administration. He urged all involved to accept the changes, emphasizing the importance of bringing prior experience into new assignments to enhance efficiency.

Furthermore, Yusuf announced that seven newly appointed commissioners, who were recently screened and cleared by the state assembly, would join the next State Executive Council meeting. During this session, their respective portfolios would be assigned, signaling a reinvigorated cabinet aimed at driving the development of Kano State through fresh ideas and approaches.

Governor Yusuf remains optimistic that the reshuffled cabinet will help accelerate social and infrastructural progress in the state.
