Katsina State Government Approves Bulk Procurement of Electric and Solar-Powered Vehicles, 20-Storey Building in Lagos

The Katsina State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Dikko Radda, has approved key projects aimed at improving transportation and boosting the state’s revenue.

Aisha Aminu, the Director General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, announced the council’s approval for the bulk purchase of electric and solar-powered vehicles and tricycles as part of the state’s public transportation program. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden of rising petroleum costs by providing subsidized transport fares for residents. Additionally, it is designed to create employment opportunities for the youth in the state. The vendors for this project, including IRS, a well-known Kano-based company, and another supplier, have been selected to deliver these transformative transportation solutions.

In another major move, the council also approved the construction of a 20-storey residential building on government-owned property in Victoria Island, Lagos State. Special Adviser to the Governor on Intergovernmental, Development Partners, and Liaison Services, Hadiza Maikudi, confirmed that this landmark project is expected to be completed within 24 months. The building is part of a broader strategy to enhance the state’s revenue generation and investment portfolio.
