Kebbi Gov Swears in LG Administrators

The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has sworn-in 21 local government administrators and charged them to stay closer to their people at the grassroots.

The governor had, last month, dissolved all the elected chairmen of the 21 LGs of the state and their secretaries.

The dissolution of the chairmen according to the governor then was following the expiration of their tenure which ended on February 5.

Inaugurating the new administrators at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the governor said, “As leaders, I want you to stay with your people instead of leaving them and moving to the state capital.

“I urge you to work hard, do your work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in you.”

The governor said the new set of LG administrators are a mix of both the experienced and young politicians, “so that the young can learn from the seasoned politicians.

“Remember, I promised that my administration will go with both experienced (old) politicians as well as the young (youths), this combination you are seeing today is in fulfilment of my promise.

“I want the old, experienced and seasoned politicians to groom the young ones because they are our future leaders.”

Responding on behalf of other administrators, the Sole Administrator of Birnin Kebbi, Dahiru Nayaya-Ambursa assured the governor of continued support for the success of his administration.

According to a statement signed by the spokesman for the governor, Ahmed Idris, and made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, the new administrators assured the governor that they would never let him down.
