Klopp Speaks on Ten Hag and Sancho’s Situation

Klopp bid his final farewell to Anfield after a 2-0 victory over Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season.

The 56-year-old spent nine years at the club, winning the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, and two League Cups.

Following his departure, Liverpool named Feyenoord manager Arne Slot as his successor.

During a Q&A at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, Klopp was asked about his take on the Sancho and Ten Hag situation at Man United.

According to the Sun, Klopp said, “If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player.

“I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless’, like other clubs did, by the way—buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”

Klopp criticised Manchester United for how they handled the Jadon Sancho problem and said the manager should have backed the player.

Sancho’s poor performance at Man United led to Ten Hag throwing him under the bus in a post-match press conference.

The England star then responded with a comment on social media discrediting his managers words towards him.

The fallout with boss Erik Ten Hag led to him being subsequently left out of the squad and demoted to team B before going out on loan to Dortmund.

Sancho has gone on to have a good season with Dortmund, having helped them qualify for the UEFA Champions League final.
