Kogi assembly confirms commissioner-designate

The Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed Olufemi Bolarin as a commissioner, following his nomination by Governor Ahmed Ododo. Bolarin has been designated to lead the newly-established Kogi State Ministry of Livestock Development.

Governor Ododo had approved the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development on January 10, aiming to improve livestock management in the state as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

Before his nomination, Bolarin served as the State Project Coordinator for the Kogi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project. After a thorough screening by the house members, Bolarin was unanimously confirmed as commissioner-designate.

In his address to the lawmakers, Bolarin expressed his commitment to enhancing livestock productivity, building resilience, and improving food security. He thanked the governor for the trust placed in him and pledged to use his position to attract partners and investors to the livestock sector.
