In a dramatic turn of events, popular Nigerian YouTuber Korty EO has found herself at the center of controversy after calling out Davido and his team for blocking the release of a highly anticipated interview.
On October 26, 2024, Korty teased her followers on X about an upcoming snippet from her interview with the superstar, stating, “Randomly decided to rework my video with @davido; I’ll drop it tomorrow by 1pm.”
However, the following day, Korty expressed her frustration as Davido’s team denied her permission to post the video, despite prior agreement on the re-edit. She tweeted, “They agreed that I should re-edit this video and now have said I must not post it for reasons I still don’t understand. I am not scared of anyone, but I am wise enough to stay out of battles I’m not equipped for.”
Her posts quickly ignited backlash from Davido’s fans, who pointed out her earlier enthusiasm for the interview. One user remarked, “You putting it out like they begged you… you literally asked them to be on your show.” Korty fired back, asserting, “Ode, they reached out to me. But you can’t relate because all you’ve ever done in your miserable life is beg & tweet like the ignorant fool you are.”
In a subsequent tweet, she emphasized the challenges of her profession, stating, “I’ve filmed so many artists who eventually tell me not to post the video. If you don’t want people to see you for who you are, please do not come on my show. Stop wasting my time.” She concluded with a reflection on her career, saying, “It’s beautiful that the greats recognize me, but my approach can be too intense for some of them, and that’s okay. We will charge it to the game, thank the Lord, and keep working.”
