Lagos Announces Traffic Diversion At Ikeja Along

The Lagos State Government says starting from Saturday, August 17, 2024, and continuing through Sunday, August 18, 2024, between 12 midnight and 4 am, traffic will be redirected at the Ikeja Along Bus Stop, between Ile Zik and Conoil Petrol Station, on the Oshodi bound lane.
Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, in a statement on Thursday, said the diversion is to carry out the demolition of the old pedestrian bridge.

“Consequently, from Ile Zik Bus Stop up to Conoil Petrol Filling Station on the Oshodi bound side of the road, only one lane will be available to Motorists to ensure safety,” he said.

Osiyemi clarified that drivers on the side of the road that is headed toward Dopemu/Abule Egba will not be impacted by the traffic diversion while the demolition is underway.

The commissioner further mentioned that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be present to control traffic flow and lessen disruptions.

He urged drivers to cooperate and mentioned that jersey barriers and safety netting will be used to block off the lanes to keep commuters and drivers safe while the work is being done.
