
The Lagos State Government has declared Monday, May 29th as a work-free day for public servants in the state to enable them to participate in Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s inauguration for a second term.
This was contained in a circular by the Lagos State Head of Service Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
“To this end, please note that Monday, 29th May 2023 would be observed as a Work Free Day to ensure the participation of the State’s Public Servants at the Inauguration Ceremony,” the circular partly read.
“Accordingly, Permanent Secretaries/Heads of Parastatals/Extra-Ministerial Agencies and Directors Administration and Human Resource are to mobilize Officers to attend the event which is scheduled to commence at 9.00 am at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos.”
Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated members of the Executive Council to work with him and his deputy in piloting his administration’s development agenda, asthe cabinet wound down on Friday, flaunting a dossier of achievements, records and progress.
The Governor said the journey, in the last four years, was not without challenging moments. He said the cabinet had sessions that reflected and took far-reaching decisions in clear understanding of his administration’s vision, pointing out that the outcomes largely impacted the people and the State economy positively.
He said every decision was adopted by the cabinet in exercising the mandate of the electorate, saying the welfare of the people was at the heart of decisions implemented by his administration.
Sanwo-Olu also passed a vote of confidence on the outgoing cabinet members, saying the executive council offered its best service to Lagos in period of challenges.
