Lagos pays N2bn retirement benefits to 644 retirees

The Lagos State Government in August paid about N2bn retirement benefits to 644 retirees.

The Director-General, Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), Babalola Obilana, disclosed this on Wednesday at the 101st Batch retirement bond certificate presentation in Ikeja.

Addressing the retirees, Obilana, said that the retirement bond certificates symbolised more than just financial rewards, but represented the trust and confidence Lagos had in its retirees.

“Your dedication has been the bedrock of the ‘goal of a greater Lagos’, and your hard work has set a high standard for those who will carry the state forward,” he said.

“This retirement bond certificate presentation ceremony is not just a formality; it is a moment to reflect upon the remarkable contributions you all have made,” the director-general said.

Obilana also complimented the retirees for their outstanding services and devotion.

He also expressed his gratitude to Sanwo-Olu for ensuring the consistent payment of pension liabilities to its retirees and prioritizing the welfare of the public service employees.
