In a swift and decisive crackdown, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested 35 suspects linked to traffic robbery across several locations, including Ajah and Elemoro, within a single week.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Command, confirmed the series of operations on Saturday, revealing that the arrests were part of tactical sweeps conducted in the Ajah area. The operation, which ran from February 24, saw the capture of individuals such as Alao Oluwafemi, Adeshina Akinrinde, Udoh John, and Afolabi Kola, among others.
Additional suspects rounded up in the same week include Olayemi Moses, Oriyomi Ojo, Ismail Mubarak, and Bashir Umar, to name just a few. These arrests also included individuals like Adebayo Oyebode, Aminu Abubakar, and Taiwo Fawasi, rounding out a diverse array of individuals apprehended by the force.
The tactical operations were conducted by teams stationed in Elemoro, covering a wide swath of the Ajah axis, stretching from Lekki Phase 1 all the way down to Epe. Hundeyin explained that these teams are part of a coordinated effort to curb violent crime, with similar operations underway in other areas across the state.
“Our tactical units are actively engaged across Lagos,” Hundeyin said, stressing that every team has been given the same objective—to apprehend criminals swiftly and bring them to justice.
The 35 suspects have already been arraigned, with authorities sending a strong message of their unwavering commitment to eliminating traffic-related crime and ensuring the safety of residents and commuters alike.
