Lagos State Govt. Uncovers 86 Illegal Tenants Paying N250,000 Rent

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Thursday, May 2, revealed the ministry’s task force discovered 86 apartments under the Dolphin Estate Bridge, Ikoyi, where tenants pay N250,000 annual rent.

Mr Wahab posted videos on his social media account, showing the partitioned rooms sized “10×10 and 12×10”.

The Commissioner said that the enforcement team of Lagos State’s Ministry of Environment and Water Resources successfully removed all structures, including a container used for illegal activities, from beneath the Bridge.

Emphasising Mr Wahab’s statement on a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the Special Adviser on Environment to the Lagos State Governor, Kunle Rotimi-Akodu, said “The bridge housed 86 rooms Even worse, the occupants reportedly paid an average of N250,000 per annum to ‘LANDLORDS’.”
