Lagos Waste Forum Welcomes UNIDO, EU as New Sponsors

The Lagos Waste Forum, a premier platform for promoting sustainable waste management practices in Nigeria, is pleased to announce that the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the European Union (EU) have joined its esteemed group of sponsors.

This significant partnership reinforces the forum’s commitment towards driving a circular economy in Nigeria and promoting environmentally responsible waste management practices. The 5th edition of the Lagos Waste Forum is committed to accelerating Sustainable Waste Management in Africa’s Megacity, and will take place on between December 2 and 3, 2024.

“We are honored to have UNIDO and the EU on board, bringing their expertise and global perspective to our mission,” said Ambassador Obuesi Phillips, President/CEO of the Lagos Waste Forum.

“Together, we will foster innovative solutions, knowledge sharing and collaborative action towards a sustainable future for Lagos and beyond.”

The Lagos Waste Forum is led by the Statewide Waste and Environmental Education Foundation (SWEEP) in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company; Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA); International Labour Organisation; Urban Waste Dynamics Ltd.; United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO); European Union (EU) and Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.

The Lagos Waste Forum is a high-level citizens’ forum dedicated to promoting sustainable waste management solutions in Nigeria.
