Lakurawa Terror Group has Less Than 200 Members , Will Be Wiped out Soon – Maj. Gen. Laka

The National Coordinator, National Counter-Terrorism Centre, Major General Adamu Laka, has assured Nigerians that there is nothing to worry about the new terror group, Lakurawa as the membership of the group is said to be less than two hundred.

General Laka was speaking in Abuja following the recent wave of terrorism in Sokoto State and other parts of the North-West, and other forms of violent extremism by the new terror group, Lakurawa.

According to the counter-terrorism coordinator, the military and other security agencies under the coordination of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, are on top of the situation and the group will be wiped out in no distant future.

General Laka added that since the emergence of this unwholesome group, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, and other service chiefs have met severally and concrete steps based on informed decisions have been taken to completely wipe out members of this group or any other from Sokoto State and Nigeria at large.

Speaking on how the group berthed in the North-West, Gen Laka explained that, “The people invited them to come and provide security against bandits. Now after providing the security for some time, they are imposing and collecting taxes from the people which cannot happen and which will not be allowed in a sovereign country.”

Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has warned the Lakurawa terrorist group that their days are numbered if they don’t desist from acts of terrorism.

Ribadu, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, boasted that nobody dares President Bola Tinubu and gets away with it.

Insisting that the terrorist group have come at the wrong time when the Tinubu is in power, the NSA vowed that they will be kicked out of Nigeria.
