The mother of former late President of Nigeria Umaru Yar’Adua has passed away at the remarkable age of 102.
According to reliable sources, Hajia Dada, died peacefully at her home in Katsina on Monday after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.
The family has announced that funeral rites will be held Tuesday, and friends, family, and dignitaries are expected to attend to pay their respects to the departed elder stateswoman.
The deceased will be laid to rest on Tuesday in Katsina at 1:00 pm, and sympathizers have already begun to gather at the family residence to offer their condolences.
The late matriarch was a respected figure in the community, and her longevity and wisdom earned her admiration from many.
Dada was also the mother of late Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the current Chairman, Senate Committee on Army.
Umaru Musa Yar’adua served as the president of Nigeria from 2007 until his death in May 2010.
He had previously served as the governor of Katsina State from 1999 to 2007.
