The Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman is euphoric with joy following his crucial role in Atalanta’s triumph over Olympic Marseille on Thursday evening.
After winning 3-0 in the second leg of the semi-final match, La Dea guaranteed their place in the Europa League final.
Last week, the first leg saw the two clubs battle to a 1-1 tie.
With a single goal and an assist, Lookman was a key player in Atalanta’s triumph at the Gewiss Stadium.
It’s the first time Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will be playing in the final of an European competition.
“Yes, we made history. An amazing performance from the team. We’re in the final and we’re going to Dublin so I’m very, very happy,” Lookman told UEFA’s official website.
“I’m very happy with the goal obviously, and helping the team any way I can.”
Atalanta will face Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen in the final in Dublin on Wednesday, May 22.
