Lyon Eye Ndidi Swoop Amid Everton Interest

Olympique Lyonnais is hoping to bolster their team this summer after securing a spot in the UEFA Europa League for the upcoming season. According to Foot Mercato, targets have already been identified, including 27-year-old Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City, a midfielder.

Although Lyon’s midfield has been strengthened with the addition of Nemanja Matić and Maxence Caqueret since the year began, this area still needs to be filled. The latter is probably going to attract attention this summer, and it’s not impossible that he’ll go. Likewise with Corentin Tolisso; Orel Mangala, who joined OL from Nottingham Forest in January, has not been able to make an impression.

Lyon moved for Ndidi last summer but to no avail; the deal was considered too complex at the time. However, the Nigerian midfielder, who has just helped guide Leicester City back to the Premier League, is out of contract this summer. However, whilst Les Gones are looking to bring Ndidi in on a free transfer, the Ligue 1 side may face competition from Everton and Real Betis.
