Micah Richards Weighs In on PSG vs Barcelona Ahead of UCL Quarterfinal Deciders

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Richards described the tie between PSG and Barcelona as a tightly balanced contest.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has shared his thoughts ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second legs taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Richards described the tie between PSG and Barcelona as a tightly balanced contest. He acknowledged Barcelona’s potent attacking options under new manager Hansi Flick but also raised concerns about their defensive vulnerabilities.

“It’s 50:50 between PSG and Barcelona — and that’s not me sitting on the fence,” Richards said. “Barcelona’s frontline is ridiculous, but the high line they play can be risky. They dominated Dortmund, but Dortmund still had three big chances. Stronger teams will punish them.”

Barcelona carry a 4-0 advantage into their second-leg clash with Borussia Dortmund after a dominant win in Germany, while PSG take on Aston Villa in England with a 3-1 lead from the first leg.

The semifinal fixtures are set for April 29 and May 6, with the final scheduled to be held at the Allianz Arena on June 6. Meanwhile, Real Madrid face an uphill battle to overturn a 3-0 first-leg loss, and Inter Milan will defend a narrow 1-0 lead against Bayern Munich.
