NAF airstrikes destroy Boko Haram hideouts in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that a precision airstrike on Boko Haram hideouts in Chikide and Degbewa, located in Borno State, has caused significant damage to the terrorist group.

Based on reliable intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) reports, the NAF targeted key insurgent strongholds within the rugged Mandara Mountains, where notorious Boko Haram leader Ali Ngulde and his fighters were believed to be meeting.

In a statement issued by Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, the NAF confirmed that its forces launched a surprise night attack on 16 March 2025. This operation was a demonstration of the air force’s advanced night warfare and precision strike capabilities.

Intelligence confirmed the presence of a fortified command center with solar-powered infrastructure, leading to the decision to carry out a sudden and precise night assault.

The statement detailed how the strike targeted terrorist hideouts deep in the Mandara Mountains, dealing a heavy blow to Boko Haram’s operations and disrupting their activities.

ISR missions confirmed that Ali Ngulde and his fighters were planning a high-level meeting at the site, and the operation destroyed critical logistics and command structures, igniting large fires and eliminating many insurgents in the process.
