National Security Adviser Vows to Combat Security Threats Under President Tinubu

The National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has warned that any obstruction of security efforts under President Bola Tinubu’s administration will not be tolerated.

Ribadu disclosed this at the Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Ribadu emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating banditry, terrorism, and other security threats, stating that high-level strategies have led to the daily elimination of hundreds of bandits, forcing many to flee to Chad, prompting the Chadian president to declare war on them.

“We will secure this country; we will fix it. We are not jokers,” Ribadu asserted. He assured attendees that the government is working diligently to create a secure environment, which is vital for the nation’s development.

Highlighting positive developments, Ribadu pointed to improved security in the Niger Delta, where crude oil production has surged to 1.8 million barrels per day. “Many parts of our country today are living in peace. Go to the Niger Delta; things have changed,” he noted.

The NSA urged Nigerians to remain patient as the government implements policies designed to reform and strengthen the economy, including ongoing changes at the Central Bank of Nigeria aimed at stabilizing the Naira.

Ribadu also praised the achievements of the Nigeria Customs Service and encouraged career officers to seek leadership positions, emphasizing the availability of growth opportunities within the organization.

The conference, which began on Tuesday, is scheduled to conclude on Friday.
