Ndume urges intensified military action against terrorists in Sambisa forest

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) has urged the military under the Theatre Command, North East ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ to intensify operations in order to clear remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating around Sambisa forests, Mandara mountains and other border communities between Gwoza and the Republic of Cameroon.

Ndume made the plea in Abuja, on Thursday. He explained that pockets of attacks recently perpetrated by the terrorists are posing serious economic setbacks to resilient farmers newly resettled in liberated communities of Ngoshe, Kirawa, Warabe, Wala, Pulka and even Gwoza town, the Council headquarters.

He expressed sadness that the terrorists have resorted to the looting of their unmatured crops without confrontation.

The federal lawmaker said, “Sincerely, the renewed pockets of attacks recently perpetrated by insurgents have posed serious economic setbacks to our resilient farmers who were newly resettled in liberated communities of Ngoshe, Kirawa, Warabe, Wala, Pulka and even Gwoza town, the Council headquarters.

Ndume who was once the Chairman Senate Committee (Army) equally expressed gratitude to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum for his extraordinary contributions to the development and rebuilding of about 10 Gwoza communities earlier destroyed by the terrorists.

He also applauded efforts and sacrifices made by the military in restoring civil authority in the area.

He also commanded the military for the deploying a medical doctor , who is providing medical services on daily basis free of charge to over 10,000 Ngoshe people and its environs who have since returned to their ancestral homes.
