Nigeria Customs seizes 16,300 Litres of PMS, smuggled goods worth over ₦300m in Kebbi

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Kebbi State has seized 16,300 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), 180 donkey skins, used clothes, and 74 cartons of various medications, all valued at over ₦300 million.

The Kebbi State Command Comptroller, Iheanacho Ojike, presented the seized items at the Command’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, crediting the successful operation to coordinated efforts by field officers and the intelligence unit.

“Despite fuel scarcity, some individuals took advantage of the situation by smuggling petroleum products out of the country,” Ojike stated.

He revealed that five suspects were apprehended in connection with the seizures and warned smugglers that Customs officers are “well-prepared and equipped to counter illegal activities.”

Ojike further noted that the seized items would be handed over to the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for appropriate handling.
