
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed an incident involving its personnel and civilians in the Unguwan Gangare, Barkallau community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The attack, which occurred on Wednesday night, resulted in one person being killed and several others injured.
According to a statement from NAF spokesperson, Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa, armed personnel from the Nigerian Air Force invaded the community, shooting sporadically and physically assaulting residents. This incident led to the unfortunate death of one individual, while others sustained injuries. The injured victims are currently receiving medical care at the 461 NAF Hospital in Kaduna.
In the statement, the NAF expressed deep regret over the loss of life and extended condolences to the family of the deceased. Akinboyewa assured the public that a full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the attack. Any personnel found responsible for the incident will face disciplinary action in accordance with the NAF’s commitment to justice and accountability.
