The Nigerian Government has announced an ambitious initiative to create one million jobs aimed at combating youth unemployment across all 774 local government areas in the country.
During a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, emphasized the government’s commitment to educating, inspiring, and connecting Nigerian youth with career opportunities in the insurance sector through digital technology.
Olawande highlighted the importance of increasing youth participation in the insurance industry to foster job creation and enhance financial inclusion. This initiative reflects the government’s broader strategy to empower young people and integrate them into the nation’s economic framework.
This announcement follows the recent commitment by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), which revealed plans to launch a new rural electricity project in November, funded by the World Bank, to provide power to 17.5 million Nigerians.
