Nigeria’s Flamingos Set for Decisive U-17 World Cup Clash Against Algeria

The first leg of the final qualifying round will take place on Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have intensified their preparations ahead of this weekend’s crucial 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria.

The first leg of the final qualifying round will take place on Saturday, Friday 25th April at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

The team has been camped at the Remo Stars Sports Institute since their commanding 5-1 aggregate victory over South Africa’s Bantwana in the previous round.

Under the guidance of head coach Bankole Olowookere, the Flamingos aim to secure a spot at the expanded 24-team World Cup tournament set to take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8.

The winner of the two-legged tie between Nigeria and Algeria will book a place at the global finals, where Africa will be represented by five teams, including host nation Morocco.
