NLO Suspends Usman Kabir Over Identity Fraud Allegations

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has officially suspended Usman Kabir from the 2025 football season following allegations of identity fraud.

Kabir was reportedly registered under the alias Abbati Muhammad Gola with Mumbiava FC Kano during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The issue came to light during his attempted registration with Camp PRO FC, where discrepancies in his personal information were detected.

In a statement, the NLO Secretariat confirmed the suspension, citing that Kabir violated league regulations which mandate the accurate submission of players’ full names—including surnames, other names, and date of birth—during the registration process.

The 2025 NLO season kicked off last week with a 1-1 draw between Hyperbuzz FC and Likeminds FC in Abuja. The rest of the opening round matches are scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, across various league centres.
