NNPCL: Count us out of publication seeking caution in probe of Kyari – Lawmakers

Some members House of Representatives have distanced themselves in the recent publication by a group of some federal lawmakers seeking caution in the probe of the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd, NNPCL, Mele Kyari.

The publication by some lawmakers with the name “Agenda 1”, calling for caution in the probe of the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPCL), Mele Kyari,had sharply divided the federal legislators.

The Rep members also asked the Joint Committee of the House of Representatives on Downstream and Mainstream to investigate the activities of Kyari.

A group of 118 lawmakers were said to have signed the publication led by Rep. Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake, Chairman of the House Committee on NDDC.

Among the members are Rep. Sesoo Ikpaher, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Land Transport, Rep. Tochukwu Okere, and Rep. Toyin Fayinka, among others.

Another lawmaker from the North Central who disapproved the inclusion of his name on the publication, Philip Agbese, the Deputy Spokesperson. of the House when contacted to confirm said he was praying and would get back but never did.

The group in the publication demanded a fair hearing in the probe of Kyari, adding that any call for his resignation at this stage is unnecessary and premature.

The lawmakers in the publication also urged the public to disregard the call for Kyari’s resignation and support President Bola Tinubu’s effort to reform the oil and gas sector for the benefit of all Nigerians.
